My dear friends in Christ,
These have been difficult days for us, particularly in our area, and the Archdiocese has asked us in the interest of public safety to adopt the following practices, until we can get to where we need to be.
Beginning this weekend at all our Collaborative’s Masses, every attendee’s temperature will be taken. Any temperature of 100.4 Fahrenheit (38.0 Celsius) or greater is considered to be a fever by the CDC.
If someone registers a temperature of 100.4 F or greater, we will show that person the respect of taking them aside and informing them quietly that they have a fever, encourage them that person to see his/her physician and guide him/her to an exit. This applies to weekday Masses, funerals, baptisms and other worship events as well.
Registration for Masses is now required. We will take a list of all people who enter the church for Masses (Sunday and weekday), funerals, baptisms, and any other events. This information is only to alert folks if someone who was at a parish event reports a positive COVID diagnosis. This information will be held by the parish only, unless we need to alert.
We need lots of help from everyone- if you could take temperatures and take down names and answer questions- I and Linda D. will be around. Please volunteer and make this as comfortable as possible for us all.
Thank you so much for your assistance and help- it is purely in the interest of public safety that we follow these directives. If you have any questions, please see me or Linda D.. Let’s pray that soon we will be released from these challenges and will be free to return to our normal lives. Thank you for your cooperation and patience.
